There are a lot of things to like about iPower but there some that caused us to move. First off, the hosting service seemed rock solid. I cannot recall a significant network outage in the years we were hosted there. If you have a basic site, this might be the place for you. Prices were average and support was ok.
The reason we left for another provider had to do with updates to the hosting package. Our site started out as a simple, static site and remained that way for several years. We were happy. But when we needed to update to a more modern, interactive site, we started to run into problems. We found it difficult to navigate the menus and options that were listed as available were not always functional. For more complex questions, support often seemed stumped. When we found that the SOAP version installed was not up to date (actually over a year behind) we were told there was nothing they could do. Limited functionality of the listed offerings is what finally drove us to find a new host.
So in the end, functionality trumped uptime. What good was it to have the site running if it couldn’t do what we wanted? Prices were average unless you factored in that limited functionality which made them seem high. Support was responsive but not always helpful. iPower is fine if you can live within the limitations but not good if you need more up to date applications.
