I am quite pleased with HostGator and have been a loyal customer to them for quite a few years now. I have several websites hosted by them all on their baby plan, which is definitely a fair price especially if you pay by the year. The plan below baby is hatchling, but only one site can be hosted on this so it would be a good idea to start with baby as it is only a few dollars more a month. For those that want to store a lot of data on their sites or who own hundreds of websites, going with a bigger package will be the best option for you.
With any business, customer service is a necessary consideration when deciding whether to purchase from them or not. HostGator has exceeded my expectations time and time again with their quick and knowledgeable support. Any payment issues I have had were solved within the day and they have even helped me with coding issues on my WordPress website. Their interface, CPanel, is quite easy to use after playing around with it a bit. If I had to nitpick about anything, it would be their domain service.
I suggest purchasing a domain name from a site like NameCheap, my personal favorite, and transferring the DNS to HostGator. This task may sound a bit technical, HostGator has a guide on how to do that and you’ll find it is a very simple process. If you still find it difficult with their guide, then a good option would be to access the live chat and talk to a customer representative who will help you set up everything you need in order to get your site going. All in all, HostGator is a great company that I highly recommend over others.
