Uptime
I have never had a problem with downtime with any of my HostGator hosting packages. They will announce which servers will be down, so that they can make hardware adjustments to the server. Their 99.9% uptime guarantee is true.
Customer Support
I have had no problem so far with customer support. Any questions I had were answered quickly Via live support or email. Although, it is recommended to get email support for problems which are tougher to get an answer to right away.
