FatCow Web Hosting Review
Fat Cow is a hosting company that tries to attract customers using a funny and innovative concept. Instead of giving us the common image of a hosting service, they are trying to create an image of a happy friend of yours. On the other hand, I am not so interested about this marketing aspect, so I will try to give you a complete review of the services offered, not a history of the Fat Cow badge.
Design and Interface
As said before, this hosting company gives you a pleasant funny interface to work with. The details about the name and the company are stated in the Who’s That Cow section, so I won’t bother you with them. All you need to know is that we are talking about an experienced company that begun its activity in 1998.
Logistics and technology
Fat Cow uses 2 main centers in the Boston area, with security centers and over 800 servers. The network offers increased security and two firewalls solutions for each client. Considering the fact that we are talking about some Dell servers, we can say that your page will be safe and secure against those vicious hackers.

Fat Cow gives a full hosting package with 56 dollars/ year. Of course, it can be customized depending on your needs, but here are the basic features included in all the packages :

The package includes one solution for website hosting, both for individuals and for companies. Maybe it is not that interesting for you, but this company powers the servers with wind energy, being a green company. The building tools are easy to use, but I think building your site on WordPress and Joomla is a better idea.
Special features
Fat Cow is one of the fewest companies to give you fully integrated Google webmaster tools. I had to test this feature, as the majority of my sites are based on Google AdSense incomes. It works great, and you can see Fat Cow is a partner of Google, as the search engine indexes the webpage almost instantly after the change was made, and I can see the Google spiders and crawlers walking around my webpage several times a day.
I must say that I am still working only with small webpages that don’t need shopping carts, SSL solutions, or VPS servers. This is why I can’t tell you much about them. On the other hand, I tried their Application Installation Wizards and I think they can be reliable.
Social Networking
Now, this is surely a great feature and I don’t think there are so many hosting companies giving you the same solution. I am speaking about 100 $ Search Engine Credits, and other 50 free dollars to use on the Social Networks. As said before, I am a fan of online marketing, and using those 150 free dollars for marketing boosted my webpage greatly.
Customer service
I specially like their online chat that is available around the clock. I am not from the USA, and calling them would be expensive for me. However, I don’t even need this facility as long as a live operator is always there to answer my questions.
