I am in the process of building my first WordPress site, TinyTagalong.com. When I found the theme that I wanted to use, they suggested that I use BlueHost. I did some research comparing them to other hosts that I had heard of, GoDaddy and Laughing Squid, I found BlueHost much more cost effective. I found that other hosts were trying to mislead me by listing a price for hosting, but then wanted significantly more for a domain name and email addresses. With Bluehost, everything was packaged together with a free a domain and email. As I am trying to start up using as little money as possible, this greatly appealed to me.
Also, there is a wealth of help out there when I’ve needed information. Having only a basic understanding of how to build a website, I have had several occasions when I have run into problems that I didn’t know how to fix. Luckily, BlueHost has a “HelpDesk” that has lots of easy-to-understand topics where I have always found the answer that I’m looking for. For example, my site was down and I wasn’t sure why. Using their HelpDesk, I was able to figure out that it wasn’t the server that was the problem, it was a plug-in that I had installed wrong.
Simple, helpful, and less expensive – just what a bootstrapping entrepreneur like me wants for her first website!
I’m also going to jump on the blogging bandwagon soon, and absolutely plan on using BlueHost. I would highly recommend it to any other website-building newbies as well!
I rate BlueHost as 5/5.
