Our company, Stone Editorial, a video production and editing firm, has used and continues to use BlueHost as its website host. Since 2007, we have hosted our website through BlueHost at www.stoneeditorial.com. We pay under $10.00 (U.S.) a month for web hosting. The website preferences were easy to set up for anyone with a fairly minimum level of html and internet knowledge. For the categories that we did not know how to set up, a Google search and a little time researching how to set up your preferences on BlueHost will get you across the finish line in approximately 4 hours.
From time to time over the years, I’ve had a question or two. For instance, I wondered how to forward e-mail while we were out of the office or how to set up a second domain name under the primary host account. I thought for this price, there’s no way I’d get any decent answers, even if I got to talk to someone at all. I was so wrong. BlueHost’s 24-7 telephone customer service is unparalleled. In this day and age, I was amazed that a real, live, knowledgeable and courteous person answered the phone and talked me through any issues I was having with the website or email. I once set up a second temporary website using WordPress, and it seamlessly integrated with BlueHost as well (with a few calls to the free tech support).
My only advice is to make sure you set up the privacy settings in advance the way you like them (i.e. your business address vs. your home address) before you get your website up and running.
I definitely rate BlueHost a 5 – very good.
